WE EXTEND OUR SYMPATHY AND PRAYERS to Mrs. Genie Saul and family on the recent death of her husband, Mr. Lamar Saul.  Lamar, along with his wife Genie, was a part of our parish family since the beginning of the parish.  May his soul rest in God’s eternal peace.

CONGRATULATIONS AND BEST WISHES to Marie Harkins and Matt Williams, who were married last week at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Jackson.  We also congratulate Marie’s parents, Dr. Mike and Julie Harkins, as well as her grandmother, Rosemary Harkins, all of our parish. We wish the newlyweds every blessing in their married life.

CORPORAL WORKS OF MERCY  This week we conclude our reflection on the Corporal Works of Mercy with a look at the last two acts:  “Visit the Imprisoned” and “Bury the Dead”.

---“Visit the Imprisoned” Those in prison remain our brothers and sisters.  Make it easier for families to visit by helping with transportation or child care.

---“Bury the Dead” Attend wakes and funerals to show your respect for the person who is now in God’s care, and to offer support to the bereaved.  Visit those who have lost loved ones in the weeks and months after the funeral.  Offer practical help, like yard work or running errands.  Sometimes just listening is the best way to ease their pain.
